Engineering have shared their comments regarding the information shared by you. Please find it as below: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------ In the past we saw these messages getting logged in two cases- 1. Either when different versions of OpenSSL exists, or 2. When CRYPTO_set_locking_callback()[explained earlier] happens. Since it has been confirmed by customer it is indeed, the issue of lock call back being overwritten(MAY BE NETAPP SDK). In our case during SSL initialization we try to set lock callback using CRYPTO_set_locking_callback() only if it is not already set so that we do not override something which is already set. We use CRYPTO_get_locking_callback() to do this. I believe in customer case when using their SDK they are directly overriding the lock call back without checking whether it's already been set or not. In cases where we see that somebody else has overwritten over lock call back we log the message as seen by customer. Hope this helps the customer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------ Henceforth, I request you to confirm whether "lock call back being overwritten" by NETAPP SDKs. Please let us know in case you have any queries. Looking forward to hear from you. I tried replacing the older version of Libeay32.dll (1.0.1i) which is shipped with NETAPP SDK with the latest version of Libeay32.dll (1.0.1j) which is shipped with VDDK, but I still see the messages being logged by VDDK. So as VMware suggested in SR request "14578574712", this does not seem to be an issue with the version incompatibility with SSL libraries used by NETAPP SDK and VDDK. As stated below this looks like a problem with lock call back being overwritten by other calls in NMSDK.
