I'm trying to get a definitive answer as to whether this feature has any value when sql server data is stored on a Netapp device. If you turn this feature on in Windows Server, when SQL Server needs new disk space for a growing data file, it does not have to "zero out" the new space but puts the new space into use immediately. I'm getting different answers as to whether this is pertinent or helpful on any SAN, but specifically a Netapp.
