It’s been yet another year of innovation at NetApp, with new additions to our vast array of product portfolios, updated solution offerings and improved product features. But we were recognized for more than just product innovation in 2013; our workplace innovation led to recognition among the World’s Best Multinational Workplaces along with our commitment to the community.
As the year wraps up, however, we decided to take a closer look at a few of the year’s best (and most recent) highlights:
NetApp’s EF550 Named One of 10 Coolest Flash Storage/SSD Products of 2013 (CRN)
Flash storage continued its growth this year as storage vendors applied flash technology in interesting and unique ways. NetApp’s recent addition to its Flash Array portfolio – the EF550 – grabbed the attention of CRN’s Joe Kovar, who named the solution one of his coolest flash products in 2013. What convinced Kovar the EF550 was worthy of that title? The solution’s solid performance and consistency, regardless of what other features such as data protection are also enabled.
FlexPod Featured Among Top Virtual Storage Terms Used in 2013 (TechTarget)
TechTarget’s Sarah Wilson spotlighted NetApp’s FlexPod solution in her round up of the top virtual storage terms used in 2013, based on a list compiled by SearchVirtualStorage of the 10 most viewed definitions on its site. Wilson praised NetApp for what she sees as one of the best storage solutions for virtual environments today, as FlexPod offers comprehensive capabilities through NetApp’s partnership with Cisco and the solution’s validation on VMware, Microsoft, Oracle and SAP.
NetApp Ranked #1 Storage Solution Shipped for Public Cloud Infrastructure (IDC)
NetApp’s ability to deliver a universal data platform that enables dynamic data portability and extensive customer choice across both public and private cloud by harnessing the versatility and efficiency of Data ONTAP earned the title of the top storage solution for public cloud infrastructure by IDC as part of its biannual Storage User Demand Study. As the first major storage supplier building an ecosystem around a private storage solution of Amazon Web Services, this ranking highlights the strength of NetApp products and services.
NetApp Ranked #3 on World’s Best Multinational Workplaces List in 2013 (Great Place to Work)
After looking at nearly 6,200 companies from 45 countries, Great Place to Work named NetApp one of the top three best multinational workplaces in 2013 thanks in large part to its employee-driven culture, joining an elite group of 25 multinational companies recognized by Great Place to Work. NetApp was ranked as one of the top five companies for the third consecutive year, a testament to our passion and commitment to setting new standards in workplace innovation and improving the lives of its employees.
NetApp Named One of Silicon Valley’s 25 Most Generous Companies (Silicon Valley Business Journal)
The Silicon Valley Business Journal recognized the companies that gave the most to local non-profits this year, ranking NetApp 16th on its list of the most generous companies in Silicon Valley. Building on our 28th rank last year, NetApp contributed $1.3 million in 2013 to local charities to boost the company to a spot in the top 25 corporate philanthropists this year.
