Hi,

Were running a 3140 and one of the volumes is now 4 TB in size with SIS enabled. What are my options as I cannot increase the volume currently.

Hi - What data is within the volume? LUN's? CIFS?

Upgrading from ONTAP 7.3.X and 32bit aggr's would be one option, although a bit of planning would be required.

OnTap Version is 8.0.1

Data is CIFS

AGG is currently a SATA 32bit

You will be running 8.0.1 in 7 Mode. As the aggr is 32 bit, there is little else you can do except migrate data off this volume to another, or create a new CIFS volume, in the short term. Long term ONTAP 8 would be better as you could use 64bit aggr's.

Are you able to create a 2nd CIFS share and use this? if the CIFS data just network share data?
