Hello thanks for  giving me a chance to discuss in this  forum

How to convert snap mirror replication from asynchronous mode to sync mode.......

Can i do it graphically? Or else  do i need to  login to console.....

In one of the forum , i saw editing snapmirror.conf  will solve the problem. But how to edit it? i cannot find rdfile or wrfile command working,,,

Is direct editng file affects our prodcution environment or replication ?

Any help in this regard is greatly appreciated

thanks and regards

I was wrong to understand.

If the system is in Cdot snapmirror sync is not yet supported.

The only way to replicate data in sync mode between two site (with a specific configuration) is now the Metrocluster Cdot.

Hi,

to converto a async snapmirror to sync mirror you can follow this guide:

https://library.netapp.com/ecmdocs/ECMP1368826/html/GUID-91528A74-2E1B-4CF7-B73E-B9F14A646C50.html

You need to edit the snapmirror.conf (you can edit it via the c$ share, of the node, with es. notepad++) with this example:

systemA:volA systemB:volB - sync

There are many consideration and limitation to do the sync snapmirror, I suggest you to carefully read this documentation : http://www.netapp.com/us/media/tr-3326.pdf

"Synchronous SnapMirror" != "sync mirror". In cDOT you have option for SyncMirror, but you do not have support for Synchronous SnapMirror.

I think he is asking about snapmirror synchronous.
