On the NetApp Matrix Site, OSSV Compatability for 'Windows 2008 (64bit) R2 EE' shows NetApp Host Agent grayed out |

What does grayed out means ?  - Does it mean you cannot manage it via DFM (OnCommandCore) Or does it mean you don't need an agent, just OSSV installation is enough.

Can someone please shed some light on this ?

Config:

OS:win 2k8 R2

Agent:2.7

OSSV:3.0.1

DFM:5.1

Backups: Working fine

Restore: Failing. (This made me check the matrix)

Thanks,

Ashwin,

Per the IMT, I show that Microsoft Windows Server 2008 EE (x86 and x64-bit) are supported with Agent 2.7 and OSSV 3.0.1. I suggest you open a support ticket with NetApp support if you are having trouble with restores. It might be an issue with the version of Data ONTAP you are using.

In IMT, For OSSV:

Under Windows Server 2008, There are 4 catagoies:

1. DCE
2. EE
3. R2
4. SE

Now, under R2, If you click 'EE' and select 64bit, x64 specifically (Or even if you select 'R2' at root), then look at NetApp Host Agent, it is grayed out.

Whereas, If I select Windows Server 2008 at the ROOT. Then, NetApp Host Agent is selectable for 2.7.
