OSSV backups

Does OSSV try to backup it own directory if the C: drive is selected as the ossv primary?  I'm seeing an issue where the snapvualt directory is growing causing space concerns on the local host.  Could this be an open file issue?  Would editing the exclude files help?

Brian,

If you accepted all the default variables during the install, there is an OSSV client database that gets created/stored on the C: drive.  This database size is roughly 2-3% of the dataset sizes being backed up.  You can determine where the OSSV database is being stored by looking at the "snapvault.cfg" file, or the OSSV Configurator GUI.  This database is also backed up as part of every OSSV backup session.

Thanks!

Thanks Jeremy.  Any idea why the snapvualt directory is filling during backups?

Brian,

This is due to the database that's used by OSSV to determine the BLI transfers. You can run "svinstallcheck" to help determine how much space is required. How much space is the database taking up, before, during and after a backup? How much free space is on the drive?

Thanks!

Jeremy
