The root volume of thte data vserver is the root of the namespace, and contains junction paths and mount points for the volumes within that namespace.

The root volume of the node contains logs, coredumps, configuration backups, and local copies of the replicated databases.

The admin vserver doesn't have a root volume, it has a set of databases that are replicated accross all of the nodes.
