Hi, I got a FAS2620 Cluster with 2 nodes, a few weeks ago there was a failure in 1 Controller, it is an old ONTAP 9.3 (don't jude me for this) with external support service, this support replaced the controller with a renewed one and for many reasons we didn't notice the node didn't come back, when we finally can get a login screen by console, Service Processor IP and all data shown was from previous company and running ONTAP 9.7x, after some work I downgrade to ONTAP 9.3P21 but I think the node needs to be rebuild from scratch, the issue is I can't get ONTAP 9.3 version to be in the same version as the cluster does and I can't update the cluster because there is a node missing, besides the node working is sharing data for final users. I think the only way to get both nodes working as a cluster is backup all data and force an update in the node running 9.3 to 9.3P21 and rebuild the cluster from scratch. Probably there could be other way so I'm open to any suggestion.

Hi I suspect some permissions acces on a file in a cifs server. I would like to check the effective access on the netapp with the command vserver security file-directory show-effective-permissions but i don't find a way to find the path of the file. It s a really old old file with some strange charset on the name. I can't use the cifs share to do that as there s a lot of cross domain and nested groups involved. Then i don't reallt know on which groups this user is member off I can access the file on the explorer of system explorer. But i don't find a way there to either - get the path i would able to paste in the cli command - find if a specific user has acces to this file or not. At the end i didn't find a way to list the content of a volume from the cli Does someone know how i can espace from this trap?

Hello I'm troubleshooting connectivity to syslog server and I can still see: EMS::SYSLOG_HANDLER: Cannot send an ems message to syslog destination: x.x.x.x Reason: cannot add the destination to the syslog_client. Error: Failed to connect: Operation timed out Ping to syslog destination is working. Firewall is opened between cluster_mgmt LIF and syslog destination, so it leads me to confirm if really a cluster_mgmt is the source LIF that sends the logs or maybe node management LIFs are sending the logs - can anyone confirm? I've tried to find this information in documentation but I couldn't.

Greetings NetApp Community, I'm working on a MetroCluster setup with two (NetApp AFF A220) across two sites (3KM distance). We'll utilize a 100Gb DWDM link. However, our ONTAP version (v13.1) doesn't seem to support NetApp CN1610 switches. I've reviewed the compatibility list (https://mysupport.netapp.com/info/communications/ECMLP2859128.html) and see mostly Nexus switches listed. We have a Cisco Nexus N9K-C93180YC-EX available. Would this be a suitable cluster interconnect even if it's not explicitly listed? Any guidance on best switch options would be greatly appreciated.

Hello. We've four out of 8 Aggregates at 96%. I believe volumes inside them are thick provisioned as well. Not sure how to check and confirm that thick/thin part. But I know this is dangerous and performance issues may occur. How to take care of this. Can we move around between aggregates or add to an aggregate from another one directly to increase space. Any capacity planning doc on Aggregates over 80% utilization. Also, want to know how aggregates are formed and why they are formed the way they are, by folks who're managing it earlier. 2nd Part of question: How to check and make sure flash cache is turned on and configured correctly on applicable nodes, and any straightforward command to identify unwanted snapshots and volumes which are not mapped to any hosts. Finally, I've been told that 96% of IOPS on our arrays falls on 20% of our capacity (54 TiB). What does this entail and can this workload concentration can be properly distributed. Any technical doc on this as well. Thanks in advance.
