can you restore to the active node of an Exchange 2007 CCR up, using a tape of a backup that was taken on the passive node?

IHAC that would like to know if they can restore to the active node of an Exchange 2007  CCR  up, using a tape of a backup that was taken on the passive node?

They are taking SME snapshots of the passive and a copy backup on the active node. The snapshots from the passive are backed up to tape using the generic _recent naming convention. The active node is not backed up to tape.

I am aware that the active node could be backed up to tape etc… but the question is specifically about the scenario above.

You can restore the database because the headers are the same; it's the same database, it just happens to be from a different box. Your customer will need to be very careful about log files though and ensure that they don't have a hole otherwise you can only restore to the point of the last log.
