statistics lun show latency

Hi All,

When test latency with command "statistics lun show" in Cmode 8.3, the latency display very high and over ten thousand or over ten thousand ms.

But when use command "statistics show -object lun -instance lun_name -counter avg_latency, the latency below 3X ms.

I have review the manual not mention detail about ""statistics lun show", why ""statistics lun show"" display very high? How to interpret or calculate the command "statistics lun show" latency.

Best regards,

Chung

Hi All,

It was BUG identify by NetApp, "statistics lun show" display should be microsecond but the result display "ms".

hi,

"stat lun show" - default interval is 5 sec, which means 5 sec sample. so the latency number you see might be skewed - you see extreme number.

"stat show -obj lun" is counting from "stat start" to "stat stop" which is you specify (normally should be much longer than 5 sec), so you see the normal numbers.

hopefully helps

thanks

Jeff
