MOVE old DS14 Shelfes to cDOT Controller

Hi,

attached to two FAS3140 are:

- a DS14mk2 Shelf with SATA Disks and vol0 for one 3140

- a DS14mk4 Shelf with FC Disks and vol0 of the other 3140

Ther are only the root volumes and no productive data.

We want move both Shelfes to a new FAS8020 which has already:

- a DS14mk2 Shelf with SATA Disks and root-aggr for one 8020

- a DS14mk4 Shelf with FC Disks and root-aggr for the other 8020

(The 8020 will be equpped with modern SAS shelfes in near future, but we also want to use or DS14-Shelfes).

Can we simply shut down the DS14-Shelfes on the 3140 and add it into the 8020-loops and add the disks? How can I prevent the 8020 getting interfered by the still exisiting aggregates and root-volumes on the DS14-shelves from the 3140? I cant say to the old FAS3140 "delete yur own aggregates".

See https://kb.netapp.com/support/index?page=content&id=1013046&locale=en_US for instructions how to remove foreign aggregates in cDOT.

Of course as always make sure new filer runs at least the same or newer version of cDOT.
