Mixing drive sizes, but same lun sizes in same aggregate

IHAC with 32 15K 300GB SAS drives and 243 15K 600GB SAS drives.  If I have them create the same lun sizes and raid types can I utilize luns within the same aggregate from both disk types?

Thanks,

Bill

My apologies, Bill.  I misread that.  That's what I get for answering these questions when I'm on vacation.

Yes, you'll be fine.

No.  An aggr should include LUNs backed by the same types of disks.  You wouldn't mix SATA and SAS drives in the same aggr if they were NetApp disks, and you don't don't want to with array LUNs, either.  Performance will suffer.  it's possible, because ONTAP can't tell.  But you should avoid it.

But in this case they are both 15K SAS.
