Top trends local governments need to watch in 2015- American City & County
As state and local governments ramp into 2015, certain key issues will drive the internal debate on organizational priorities and budget planning, with discretionary spending on IT dollars predicted to remain largely static from last year. With so much on the line, and so many options to consider, state and local CIOs would be wise to pay particular attention to a few key areas of growth within the technology stratosphere, and focus their attention and resources on these issues that will shape technology at the state and local level for 2015.
History has it that The Brooklyn Hospital Center (TBHC) was inspired by a man who broke his leg near Brooklyn City Hall. Unable to find local care, his only option was to go to the almshouse four miles away. Incorporated by the New York state legislature, TBHC began caring for the community, especially its poorest and most vulnerable members, in 1845. It also tended to sick and wounded soldiers returning from the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, and World War I and II. Occupying the same 19th-century buildings of its early days, TBHC continues to provide compassionate, quality care to the underserved in Brooklyn and the surrounding New York City boroughs. With more people than ever relying on TBHC, it must continually find ways to stretch Medicaid and Medicare dollars further while maintaining its standard of excellence.

The theme of this year’s summit was Innovate, Empower, Transform. Going hand- and-hand with the theme, Steve shared that there is demand for seamless integration.
