Re: Interview Question for Netapp Engineer

My two favorites -

The pretender weed out question:  How much space does a snapshot of a volume take?

If you are planning block protocols (FC, iSCSI):  What is fractional reserve?

Hope this helps you.

Re: Interview Question for Netapp Engineer

Mjaber -

I was hanging out here on the NetApp Community and wasn't finding any good questions to answer, so started to browse through my old posts.

This one stood out for me due to the Kudos I got on my short answer.

The short answer I had orriginaly posted was one I had been given on a recent NetApp interview from a client.

Thought it was worth some time to make a follow up response to your question and try to bring the thread back to life.

I'll start with some general NetApp questions and then probably make some follow up posts with more advanced topics.

My plan is to write questions on various topics like 7-Mode, Cluster Mode, DR, history, simulators, OCI, APIs, WFA, networking, etc. over time.

Please understand that I teach NetApp currently for a living as well as consult for clients.

This is the reason I hang out on the Community web site.

It's my job to answer ANY question a student may ask in class.

I have a passion for NetApp that drives these questions I'm asking and have the answers for.

I hope that readers will take this up as a fun challenge ?

Respond to this post, or create a new thread with any one of these 'interview' questions.

I'll be happy to write posts with the answers !

Many of these questions already have answers written here on the Community web site ...
