Command Example - Remove CIFS Share ACL - vFiler DOT 8.0.x

by Frequent Contributor on ‎2012-03-22 12:41 PM

This Command will allow you to remove the ACLs on vFiler shares.  This command was specifically put together to work on DOT 8.0.x, but will work with any DOT version.  The reason for being put together for DOT 8.0.x is due to the API's for CIFS Share ACLs  not being ported to the vFiler level.  Meaning the CIFS Share ACL API's won't work for DOT 8.0.x.  This command will  get around that DOT limitation.  You would use this command  if the following is true:

  • You removing Permissions for Shares on vFilers
  • You are running DOT 8.0.x (again... this command will work for ONTAP version, but is specifically needed for DOT 8.0.x)

Input parameters

  • Array name or IP address
  • vFiler name
  • Share Name
  • User or ADgroup

WFA: 1.1.0.53.2 B6510
