OCUM user password rules

Hi,

I try to figure out what the actual rules are for a local user in OCUM.

I need some information like

- minimum pw length

- maximum pw length

- required characters

   - how many lower-case letters (if at all

   - how many upper-case letters (if at all)

   - how many digits (if at all)

   - how many special characters (if at all)

- which characters are allowed

And - can I change those parameters?

I just created a local user with a hyper-sophysticated password including several special characters.

The UI shows the user as successfully created but I cannot login with it.

So either I have used some special characters that are not accepted or the password is too long and either of these leads to the password being incorrectly stored in the DB.

Nevertheless the user-creation wizard did not complain about an illegal password in the first place.

Where could I find information on how a password is allowed to look like?

Thanks and regards, Niels

Hi Sahana,

I'm not looking for password rules in ONTAP, but Unified Manager - specifically OCUM6.2+.

Kind regards, Niels

Thanks for digging that up!

That helps to understand the password rules.

Nevertheless it would be good to have it written in the admin guide so I can point my customer to it rather than sending him a screenshot from the first-time UM setup screen.

Kind regards, Niels
