SMO and Protection Manager Integration - Initial Setup

We followed Appendix B inTR-3761- http://media.netapp.com/documents/tr-3761.pdf

BUT - When creating a new policy, the protection policy options are greyed out.

We are obviously missing something here...any suggestions?

Unable to list the protection policies for the following reasons
SMO-01602: Protection Manager product is not installed or snapdrive is not configured to use it.
Please install protection manager and/or configure snapdrive

what's the error? And is it coming from dfm or smo? Could it be a resource issue for that policy?

There are no errors that we're aware of.  The issue is during policy creation, the protection manager options are greyed out.

I am very interested in understanding the architecture of the pieces (how do the SMO server and Protection Manager server know about each other)?

Hi Scott,

To which GUI are you referring NMC ? or SMO ?

If its smo can you try to see in dfm if that is listing all available policies by typing the following command.

dfpm policy list ?
