Update 2.0.1 -> 2.1 DB Restore fails

After an upgrade from 2.0.1 to 2.1 the db restore fails with the following error. Anybody an idea what might be the issue and how to resolve it? It is a productive environment so this is a bit critical.

  • Failed upgrading certified content when restoring 'C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\j255030\Desktop\WFA_V2.0.1.23.8_B13393_01_15_14__11_07_06.sql.gz'
  • Caused by Transaction rolled back
  • Important: The DB state may be inconsistent

Hi Stefan,

     Firstly, we apologies for the Restore Failure. Could you help us with the following to help you ?

  • Pls open a CASE with NetApp Support
  • In the mean time could you get us the following in the priority order.
    1. A DB backup of your 2.0.1
    2. Else the Backup_Restore log from the following location C:\Program Files\NetApp\WFA\jboss\standalone\log ?

Hi Adai,

what's the best way to open a case for wfa. Normally I would use a serial number but wfa doesn't have one.

Hi Stefan,

     Though there is no license, there is a unique way to identify each wfa instance. Will figure it out and let you know.

Login to WFA, On Top left

Administration -> WFA Configuration ->AutoSupport Tab ( default), System ID

Hi Stefan,

     Figured it out, by reaching out to our support folks.

All you need are the following.

  1. Valid controller serial number to open case.
  2. ASUP from WFA (manual generation) and the WFA System ID

I am sure you know how to get #1, and #2 as explained by sinhaa.

Thanks to Alex from Support on this info.

BTW stefan, do let me know the support case number once opened I will close my internal loop on the same.
