The NetApp® E2800 storage system, with both all-flash and hybrid solid-state drive/hard disk drive (SSD/HDD) configurations, is ideal for small and medium-sized businesses, plus enterprise remote and branch offices. It allows you to gain insights quickly, simply, and affordably from a range of mixed-workload environments, including data analytics, video surveillance, technical computing, and data protection.
Unlike other storage systems that add file or virtualization layers in the I/O data path, E2800 systems are purpose-built to optimize performance for mixed workloads. With a controller that is built on the latest Intel processor technology, along with a 12Gb SAS infrastructure, E2800 systems improve IOPS and throughput to help you extract value from your data and make faster decisions for your business.
The E2800 also offers an improved user experience with an on-box, web-browser-based interface that is modern, simple, and clean. The intuitive interface of the E2800 simplifies configuration and maintenance while providing enterprise-level storage capabilities. Encrypted media (FIPS 140-2 encrypted HDDs and SSDs) is also supported.
The Knorr-Bremse Group, based in Munich, Germany, is the world’s leading manufacturer of braking systems for rail and commercial vehicles. It uses the E2800 all-flash storage to accelerate its SQL databases and improve its business response.
The E2800 supports 15.3TB SSD drives, increasing all-flash capacity to 367TB in a dense 2U system for an impressive maximum scalability of 734TB in 4U (with 15.3TB SSD-only), thus minimizing footprint and power requirements for the most demanding data centers.
The new 15.3TB drives will ship in March. In addition, the NetApp SANtricity® software 11.30 is a 2016 TechTarget-SearchStorage Product of the Year finalist because of its automated management, ability to store and present up to 30 days of performance data, and easier-to-use alert management, including an embedded SNMP agent and MIB.
The NetApp Verified Architecture (NVA) publication describing a new FlexPod® solution, “FlexPod Express with VMware vSphere 6.0U2, NetApp E-Series, and Cisco UCS Mini,” is now available. FlexPod Express with Cisco UCS Mini and NetApp E2800 provides a compelling, cost-effective converged infrastructure solution to address compute, network, and storage requirements for remote offices and small and mid-sized businesses.
