But beyond that, FlexPod partners are quietly making a difference by giving back.
There was a recent study published by Harvard identifying that personal happiness increases when you connect with others while giving back. If that is true, our partner community is a shining example of how to be happy. We took a peek around the internet to discover just what our partners are doing to impact the lives of others.
Long View Staff Build a Playground in Haiti
Long View staff, friends and family travelled to Port-au-Prince, Haiti to build 3 school playgrounds. The Long View team members paid their own way for the trip, while others across Long View pulled together to raise $25,000, enough to not only cover the cost of the playground materials, but to also provide program costs for the “Long View Summer Camp”, an educational camp for children. Dimension Data - Promoting Change & Healing in Africa
Through their Community Development Trust, Dimension Data’s broad based transformation program has stretched far and wide positively affecting over 45,000 people in rural developing areas in Africa. Utilizing workshops and programs Dimension Data is helping people gain pride, purpose and learn the skills necessary to become self-sustainable. Be inspired by the video.
Softchoice Cares is an initiative that encourages community involvement to foster a culture of social awareness and inspiration to lead change. It all began in December of 2004, when a devastating tsunami struck South East Asia. Following the catastrophe a few employees decided to raise money to support the massive relief effort. Their example caused a chain reaction companywide as employees pitched in to contribute and raise funds. The following year the Softchoice Cares Board was formed. Comprised entirely of employees who volunteer their time outside of business hours, they determine annual giving initiatives. Check out this video which shows the scope of the Softchoice Cares reach.
