The key new features include:
· Cluster mode support for NetApp FAS arrays running Data ONTAP 8.1.1
· Support for physical NFS servers
· VMware vSphere 5.1 integration (tested against release candidate from VMware)
Of course you get all the existing goodness of Balance including:
Visibility into virtual infrastructure from VMs to physical servers to storage disks
Reporting on misalignment and prioritizing performance risks
Identifying the cause of infrastructure performance problems
Tuning server and storage utilization for optimal shared infrastructure performance
Optimizing VM densities
· And much, much more…
Automated color-coded topology quickly shows health of entire infrastructure including clusters.
Storage health panel shows cluster details including assuring failover performance.
Know where the performance risks are as soon as you open the GUI.
Get notified of increasing load on disks before you have a problem.
How to Participate
The beta program is open to all NetApp customers and partners. Balance 4.1 continues to support previous versions of Data ONTAP 7, but our focus for this beta evaluation is for cluster mode systems running Data ONTAP 8.1.1, so if you’re running 8.1.1 we’d love to hear from you.
