VMware and NetApp continue to partner closely, and share a common vision of the software-defined data center, which provides our customers with automation, flexibility, and efficiency to help them solve some of their biggest IT challenges of today and in the future.
Today's announcement from NetApp on its new version of clustered Data ONTAP includes support for VMware vCloud Suite and VMware Horizon Suite, and enables on-demand access to storage resources, along with quality of service and security isolation in a shared infrastructure environment. This integration enables our joint customers to realize the benefits of a software-defined data center architecture, with aggregated pooled resources and services that are delivered as software using intelligent, policy-driven management.
By extending the benefits of the software-defined data center at the storage layer, organizations can use VMware infrastructure to speed delivery of services to application owners, and improve the operational and resource efficiency of their current storage solutions.
VMware is focused on extending the benefits of virtualization to all levels: compute, security, networking, and storage. By working closely with partners, including NetApp, we can help our joint customers achieve the full value of the software-defined data center, with greater control, simplicity, and agility.
