On November 5, NetApp announced new models in its FAS3200 Series with the release of the FAS3220 and FAS3250. The new FAS storage systems help enterprises and midsized businesses that are consolidating infrastructure operations onto a shared storage platform improve performance and increase storage capacity.
The FAS3220 has 80% higher performance, 100% more capacity (up to 480 disk drives) and 3x PCIe slots for greater flexibility compared to the FAS3210. The FAS3250 has 70% higher performance and 20% more capacity (up to 720 disk drives ) then the FAS3240.
Like prior models of the FAS3000 family, these models support clustered Data ONTAP and help eliminate downtime, especially planned downtime. These systems are ideal for unified scale-out NAS and SAN environments, and are flash-optimized for more choice and flexibility.
