Re: ontap 7.3 load balance confirg mapth script error

Hi,

Are you able to ping the filers by name from the host? Is the firewall turned on?

I am assuming this is an esx host in which case you could install the NetApp VSC see this post  http://communities.netapp.com/message/18638

With it you can set the MPIO settings

Re: ontap 7.3 load balance confirg mapth script error

HI ,

Sorry forgot to mention esx version , I am using ESX 3.5.

Thanks & Regards,

Re: ontap 7.3 load balance confirg mapth script error

I think the syntax for the config_mpath command is --access <filerXX>:<password> , though I do not think that is the issue.

You also need to add the esx host to the hosts.equiv file on the filer

The format in the file is

<ESX_host>     root

If it still complains about dns, try adding the filer names/ip's the /etc/hosts on the ESX server
