Resolved Issues ====================================================== SANtricity OS 11.70.2 (December 2021) __________________________________________________________________________________________ Reference Number Affected Component Severity Description ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ECD-12691 Controller Firmware 1 On EF300 or EF600 running 11.70R1 or 11.70R2, with DULBE enabled volumes in a volume group (not a pool), a reconfiguration operation (add capacity, etc.) on the group could result in data inconsistency. ECD-13889 Controller Firmware 1 With FlexArray a rare timing condition during SANtricity OS download could cause the E-Series array to lose access to an FC host. ECD-13934 Controller Firmware 1 When creating a consistency group with multiple volumes and the pool or volume group does not have sufficient capacity to create the CG repositories, failed volumes, failed drives, and DA errors could occur. ECD-13950 Controller Firmware 1 When using RAID5 volume groups, a rare timing condition when a drive returns errors could lead to controller reboots and lockdown. ECD-14157 Controller firmware 2 With NVMe drives, an NVMe drive failure might cause dual controller reboots and temporary loss of array access. ECD-4351 Controller Firmware 2 On controllers with FC host ports, an unstable FC network could lead to a controller reboot. ECD-12384 Controller Firmware 2 When snapshots and mirroring are in use, snapshot creations of the primary and secondary mirror volumes when the snapshots are scheduled at the same time might lead to controller reboots and lowered performance. ECD-12531 Controller Firmware 2 With DE460C as an RBOD, reseating a controller when the alternate controller is unresponsive might cause the array WWN to change. ECD-12875 Controller Firmware 2 When using mirroring, a controller reboot might occur if a volume expansion is performed on the primary volume prior to a volume expansion completing on the secondary volume. ECD-13401 Controller Firmware 2 Array fails pre-upgrade health check with incorrect message ECD-13311 Controller Firmware 2 When using NVMe drives, after a controller reboot or drive replacement, a drive could report as incompatible when it should report failed. ECD-13617 Controller Firmware 2 On EF300 or EF600 with 4k drives and 512e volumes, a rare timing condition could cause a controller reboot during volume reconfiguration. ECD-13672 Controller Firmware 2 After deleting a volume a controller could reboot. ECD-13742 Controller Firmware 2 When using NL-SAS drives, the drives might be incorrectly marked with the impending-failure status due to stagnant IO which leads to drive evacuation and replacement. ECD-13795 Controller Firmware 2 With SAS expansion shelves, an IOM replacement might report the new IOM as failed. ECD-14007 Controller Firmware 2 When a drive in a Pool is failed while it is undergoing drive evacuation, the drive could be removed from the pool when drive reconstruction completes. ECD-14145 Controller Firmware 2 After a controller reboot, a burst of write IO might lead to performance degredation of 100 millisecond or greater latency. ECD-14190 Controller firmware 2 If an OS, usually VMware, sends commands to the array from an unconfigured Host Port and with an invalid LUN ID, then controller reboots could occur. ECD-13407 Controller Firmware 3 With E5700 or EF570, the Drive Channels section of the Storage Array Profile is incorrect or missing. EMD-7513 Manageability 2 SANtricity System Manager with LDAP enabled will reject login attempts if parentheses are used in the Organizational Unit (OU) name. EMD-7578 Manageability 2 With the vCenter Plugin, if the controller has an IP address higher than 127.255.255.255, provisioning or management actions will fail. EMD-7661 Manageability 2 When using StorageGrid appliances, a SANtricity OS upgrade to 11.70x might fail. EMD-7673 Manageability 2 When creating a volume copy of a snapshot volume the operation will fail with a no valid copy targets message even if valid copy targets exist. EMD-7715 Manageability 2 When configuring Email alerts in System Manager, if one or more Email recipients are configured and the SMTP server is an empty string, Email alerts will be attempted to be sent to an SMTP server on localhost, which will never be successful. ====================================================== SANtricity OS 11.70.1R1 (August 2021) __________________________________________________________________________________________ Reference Number Affected Component Severity Description ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ECD-13708 Controller Firmware 1 After deleting a volume and then increasing capacity on a different volume in the same volume group or pool by 100% or more, a volume ownership change of the volume while it is being increased could result in data integrity issues or data assurance mismatch errors. ECD-13656 Controller Firmware 1 When using EF300 or EF600, more than 50 host connections could lead to controller reboots and lockdown. ECD-13282 Controller Firmware 2 When upgrading EF300 or EF600 to 11.70.1.GA from any previous release, drive path redundancy could be lost. ECD-13744 Controller Firmware 2 With StorageGrid SG6060, or SG5760, configured for 16+2 DDP ("DDP16") the system could experience performance issues after upgrade to 11.70x. EMD-7601 Manageability 2 When using SANtricity Webservices Proxy to manage two or more arrays, an internal database can grow until it consumes all available capacity on the host file system. EMD-7616 Manageability 2 When support data is configured to be sent via Email, the received data is not useable. ====================================================== SANtricity OS 11.70.1.GA (June 2021) __________________________________________________________________________________________ Reference Number Affected Component Severity Description ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ECD-5088 Controller Firmware 1 If a drive is removed (manually or by complete drive failure) during a copy then replace operation, the array could reboot, lockdown and the array configuration could be lost. ECD-11897 Controller Firmware 1 If enough drives are failed, removed, or powered down to cause a volume failure, a read from the volume at the moment it fails could return incorrect data. ECD-12247 Controller Firmware 1 With volume groups, but not pools, if host I/O is initiated to a volume before Immediate Availability Format (IAF) starts, an extremely rare timing condition can cause Data Assurance errors or data inconsistency ECD-12266 Controller Firmware 1 With RAID 3/5/6 or Pools if enough drives are failed, removed, or powered down to cause a volume failure, a write to the volume at the moment it fails could cause a controller reboot ECD-12563 Controller Firmware 1 In conditions similar to ECD-12575 and when Windows Clustering or VMware generate persistent reservations on LUNs, dual controller reboots could occur potentially leading to loss of array availability. ECD-12947 Controller Firmware 1 On EF300 or EF600 with NVMe drives in the controller shelf, a pool or volume group could fail after a power cycle. ECD-13016 Controller Firmware 1 During a controller-initiated drive recovery, a controller reboot could cause drive failures, which could lead to volume failures (loss of data access) that would require manual recovery. ECD-13188 Controller Firmware 1 On EF300 or EF600 with 512 byte block size volumes created on 4KiB block size NVMe drives, data inconsistency could occur during a write same operation (e.g. VMware VM Initialation, vMotion). ECD-13234 Controller Firmware 1 If the controller shelf loses power while any expansion shelves remain powered, failed volumes due to loss of access to drives could occur when the controller shelf's power is restored. ECD-13283 Controller Firmware 1 When deleting a volume or performing reconfiguration operations (increasing capacity, RAID migration, etc.), data assurance errors could occur. ECD-4994 Controller Firmware 2 When using FC or NVMe/FC a controller reboot could occur when a corrupted Registered State Change Notification (RSCN) is received from the host or switch. ECD-5366 Controller firmware 2 When using IB/SRP with I/O operations >1MiB a controller reboot could occur ECD-5406 Controller firmware 2 On EF300 or EF600, if the minimum time of 10 seconds between pulling drives is not observed (this requirement is still in effect with this fix), both controllers could reboot ECD-10308 Controller Firmware 2 When using VMware with data assurance enabled volumes and remote mirroring, a mirroring role reversal will lead to the inability to mount the newly promoted volume as a VMware datastore. ECD-11518 Controller Firmware 2 When using 8KiB cache block size with heavy, small block, random IO a controller reboot might occur. ECD-11700 Controller Firmware 2 When using thin provisioned volumes a controller reboot could occur during a write operation. ECD-12080 Controller firmware 2 An unstable iSCSI network could cause a controller reboot. ECD-12082 Controller Firmware 2 When write back caching is disabled on the array, if the host is slow to respond to a data transfer request and there are multiple outstanding writes in queue, a controller reboot could occur. ECD-12142 Controller Firmware 2 When using LDAP/AD directory service, after "Directory Services Server Connection Failed" recovery guru is reported on the array, the recovery guru persists after the condition is cleared ECD-12243 Controller firmware 2 When using remote mirroring with iSCSI, volume synchronization could fail even though the secondary array reports optimal. ECD-12264 Controller Firmware 2 On EF600 running 11.60.2 or later or EF300 running 11.70 and with IB host interface cards an infrequent reboot could occur. ECD-12319 Controller Firmware 2 With Nearline SAS drives in rare cases IO Timeouts were encountered. ECD-12371 Controller Firmware 2 In rare cases, a stalled IO could lead to a controller reboot. ECD-12575 Controller Firmware 2 On E28xx/EF280/E57xx/EF570 with at least one expansion shelf and, a pool which uses an equal number of drives on each shelf, a pool reconfiguration could lead to a reboot. ECD-12636 Controller Firmware 2 If host side IO shipping is occurring with large read/write operations (>2 MiB) a controller reboot could occur. ECD-12708 Controller Firmware 2 On EF300 or EF600 and with DULBE capable drives, performing a volume expansion of a Resource Provisioned Volume will cause the array to report "Volume Initializing" after initialization is complete. ECD-12802 Controller Firmware 2 When using iSCSI host interface cards, upgrade from 11.50.x to 11.60.x or 11.70 GA/R3 could result in loss of access due to MAC address loss. ECD-13311 Controller Firmware 2 With EF300 or EF600 and NVMe drives, drives could be incorrectly reported as incompatible when they should have been reported as failed or pending failure. ECD-13406 Controller Firmware 2 With a Simplex array storage-assisted copy operations (Windows ODX or VMware VAAI) could cause a controller reboot. EMD-7350 Manageability 2 When using mirroring, unable to edit mirroring settings in System Manager in certain Internet browsers. EMD-7432 Manageability 2 When using LDAP, with System Manager special characters are not displayed correctly. EMD-7496 Manageability 2 If Email alerts are configured with a mail server and the mail server is deleted, Autosupport data will not be sent for alertable events. ====================================================== SANtricity OS 11.70 R3 (March 2021) __________________________________________________________________________________________ Reference Number Affected Component Severity Description ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ECD-12813 Controller Firmware 1 On EF300 or EF600 with NVMe DULBE capable drives and resource provisioned volumes, attempting to disable the resource provisioning feature could lead to data inconsistency. ECD-12185 Controller Firmware 2 On E28xx/EF280/E57xx/EF570 with at least one expansion shelf and a pool which uses an equal number of drives on each shelf, upgrading from a pre-11.70 release to 11.70 or later could lead to an extra reboot during firmware download and a health image could be generated. ECD-12264 Controller Firmware 2 On EF300 or EF600 and with iSER/IB, NVMf/IB, or SRP/IB, a controller reboot could occur and a health image could be generated. ECD-12347 Controller Firmware 2 When only NVMe DULBE capable drives are in use, when drives are removed from the array configuration database and reintegrated by actions such as a drive firmware download, or a manual or automated drive power cycle, then the array configuration database could be lost. ECD-12564 Controller Firmware 2 When deleting a volume from a pool which uses a large number of NL-SAS drives then a controller reboot could occur. This is known to occur with 200 drives, but could occur with fewer drives. ECD-12612 Controller Firmware 2 When using NVMe DULBE capable drives and resource provisioned volume groups, the resource provisioning feature could not be disabled. ECD-12624 Controller Firmware 2 When only NVMe DULBE capable drives are in use and when performing a dual controller replacement with controllers which were using a different SANtricity OS version, the replacement controllers could lock down. ECD-12695 Controller Firmware 2 On E2800/EF280/E5700/EF570 running 11.51 or earlier SANtricity OS, upgrading to a later version of SANtricity OS may lead to a sequential write performance degradation. ECD-12751 Controller Firmware 2 Disable resource provisioned volumes by default and correct data integrity issues found when attempting to manually disable existing resource provisioning on EF300 or EF600 when NVMe DULBE capable drives are present. SANtricity OS 11.70 R2 (November 2020) __________________________________________________________________________________________ Reference Number Affected Component Severity Description ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ECD-11903 Controller Firmware 1 When replacing or reinstalling a controller while the alternate controller is online, the alternate controller could reboot. ECD-12250 Controller Firmware 1 If drive media errors are encountered in the array database stored on the drives then controller reboots or the loss of array access due to dual controller lockdown could occur. EMD-7352 Management Software 2 When using Firefox the user is unable to login to SANtricity System Manager if launched from Unified Manager. SANtricity OS 11.70 GA R1 (November 2020) _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The GA release includes all fixes provided in maintenance releases for previous major versions that were released prior to the GA release date.
