   This EOA bulletin informs NetApp sales and NetApp partners about Network ApplianceTM products that have come to the end of their availability lifecycle. Network Appliance will continue to provide hardware and software support for these products, as described in this bulletin.

1.   Summary

This notification announces the end of availability for the Business Continuance Option in the May 2007 release of the Quote Tool.  The functionality will now be made available for new customers as part of the NetApp Protection Manager product.

2.   NetApp Sales and Channel Partner Responsibility

Field sales and channel partners should inform and prepare all customers who may be affected by the discontinuance of the products listed in this bulletin. In particular, the field and partners need to understand and communicate the Network Appliance policy for supporting discontinued products. Please see section 4 for additional ways you can communicate EOA notification information to your customers.

3.   NetApp Global Services (NGS) Responsibility

NGS is responsible for providing hardware and software support as various products go through their lifecycles. This bulletin includes important dates for support that will be communicated to all identifiable customers.

4.   Customer Communications

Domestic
The EOA information will be communicated to all customers who are subscribers to the
Customer Product Communiqué database as part of the regular quarterly End of Availability announcement. The customer notice in section 5 is scheduled for distribution in May 2007. The notice will be sent via the Customer Product Communiqué e-mail alias on NOW™.  Please ensure that your customers have an up-to-date e-mail address on the alias.

Sales and Channel Managers
You can greatly assist corporate in communicating EOA information to your customers by forwarding the forthcoming customer notice to them via your own e-mail aliases. Channel managers need to ask your reseller partners to ensure that all their customers are notified. PLEASE DO NOT FORWARD THIS EOA BULLETIN TO CUSTOMERS, BECAUSE IT IS AN INTERNAL-ONLY DOCUMENT.

International
International field offices are responsible for translating and distributing the customer notice to all customers in their respective territories.

Dear Network Appliance Customer:

For your information and planning, this notice is meant to inform you that the Operations Manager Business Continuance Option will no longer be sold separately, but will become part of the new NetApp Protection Manager product.

Please note that while we are announcing the end of availability of this product, Network Appliance will continue to support it for three years after EOA.  The effective End of Availability, End of Support, and Last Ship dates for all Network Appliance products are on the End of Availability page, located at http://now.netapp.com/NOW/products/eoa.

6.   Network Appliance Support Policies after EOA

Network Appliance announces End of Availability (EOA) dates for hardware and software products as these products progress through their lifecycles. EOA is defined as the last date by which a customer can place an order for that product. End of Support (EOS) is defined as the last date on which Network Appliance will provide support for that product. To protect customers investments in these products, Network Appliance is committed to continue supporting contract customers for a period of time after announcing End of Availability.

7.   Continuation of Hardware Support

For all equipment under a hardware contract, Network Appliance will continue to repair or replace field replaceable units (FRUs) for a period of 5 years from the End of Availability date, for each hardware product. Network Appliance will continue to offer for sale new current or functionally equivalent network interface cards and host bus adapters for EOA systems for a period of at least 1 year after the End of Availability date for the system, based on availability. Network Appliance reserves the right to substitute functionally equivalent systems and peripherals that may possibly require a software upgrade.
