Netapp EF600 connected with ESX 7.01 over fabric (Brocade G620) and Emulex LightPulse LPe32000 card.

Controllers and Namespaces are visible in ESX, but the "Path" status is "dead"

Emulex experts said because of volume block size is 4096. VMware support only 512

I've created a new volume group and volume with 512 block size, but ESX still show 4096 (ESX rebooted)

Any suggestion how to change volume block size on EF600 to 512?

Poor performance on Dynamic home share

Hi Gents,

Newly installed A250 takes 1+ minute to open a 5Mb word file from a home share which is configured as a dynamic share (%w$) over VPN. Same file when copied to a standard CIFS share (not a Dynamic home share) it open in 15 seconds. It is same SVM in both scenario and the latency is not coming from volume or disk from perf analysis. With and with out AV scan tested, no difference. Fploicy we are not using. Any clues where to to troubleshoot this issue? please advise.

Disk encrypt revert_original from maintenance mode responds with a root volume error

I had posted a few months ago about a circumstance that required reverting SEDs to their factory state in maintenance mode:

I've recently had the opportunity to try it out, and I receive a "no usable root volume found" upon execution of the disk encrypt revert_original command in maintenance mode, and the disks remain in a failed state-- subsequent "disk unfail" commands also have no effect. Although I fully expect there not to be a root volume in place and realize there's truth to the message, I would expect that I would have unfailed disks after both of the commands I used were issued.

Is there another step I'm missing here?

Is it possible to return a netapp bought in error?

When I run "storage aggregate show -aggregate * -fields encrypt-with-aggr-key,drive-protection-enabled" it lists the root aggregate for the SED disks as true for drive-protection-enabled and the data aggregates as false. Got myself in a pickle trying to work it out, then found the above bug. It could do with being tagged for 9.8P2 as well.

Snapshot Reserves Best Practice

I have a question on Snapshot Reserves %.

I have volumes with LUN’s and as far as I know the best practice is to keep it 0%.
On ONTAP 9.5P6 when I use the Volume Resize Wizard and set the Snapshot Reserve 0% no issue.
But on ONTAP 9.7P2 when I use the same Volume Resize Wizard and change the Reserve from 5% to 0% the GUI show the Reserve from yellow to Red.
The Volume is 10% bigger than the LUN.
The system is AFF220.
Has anything changed? Is it a GUI issue?
Any advice?

Revert SED to manufacturer's state from maintenance mode

I've recently corrected an issue encountered on one of my user's AFF-A200 systems. The short of it is they exchanged an incorrect key with the AFF-A200 during system boot. This happened the prerequisite amount of times for the disks to be failed somewhat permanently. I was able to revert the disks to their original state by using the procedures listed here:

However, this procedure required me to insert the disks into an operational cluster in order to revert them (we were lucky enough to have one capable of reverting the disks). Is there a different procedure that can be performed to revert these disks without having a booted CDoT system? Perhaps from maintenance mode? I understand that loss of data in occurrences such as these is a by-product of exchanging the wrong key and I don't require a recovery of any data, just a factory reset of failed disks.

NetAppHCI 1.8P1 NDE deployment (NTP time out error)

We try to install NetAppHCI 1.8P1 by NDE.

RTFI usb boot and fresh installed.(Compute Node x2 , Storage Node x4)

no use DHCP server.

I set to Static IP address of 1G Management Port.(Compute Node and Storage Node)

I set to Static IP address of 1G Management Port and 10G port(Storage Node(no set 10G of Compute Node))

NDE install start.

But NTP time out error appered.

(NDE default NTP server(us.pool.ntp.com)can not resolve and reach)

So we re setting local AD(DNS/NTP) server(192.168.247.56).

But we can not restart NDE.

How can we restart NDE process?

CIFS on 8040FAS Replacing with FAS2720

Hello,

We have a 4 node cluster currently consisting of a FAS8040 and a AFF-A300.

The cluster has the following SVMs

Fiber Channel (All 4 nodes have access to this)

CIFS&NFS (Only the 2 8040 nodes have access to this data network (10GB) connections)

I am introducing a 2 node FAS2720 which will house all the CIFS data that the FAS8040 currently does. My question is what I have to do with the CIFS/NFS SVM in preparation for the removal of the 8040.

I have no problems and am very familiar with retiring a node with just fiber channel. In that case I add the new nodes FC data ports to the SVM, do the zoning in the fabric, and make sure all paths show up. Then I volume move the data over to the new nodes aggregates, make sure the lun mappings look good, and then remove the old nodes FC LIFS and remove it from the cluster.

This is what I think will happen for CIFS but I wanted guidance.

-I add the FAS2720 to the cluster

-I configure the 2720 ports for the 10GB network ports on the same VLAN as the current 8040.

-I volume move the CIFS/NFS volumes from the 8040 aggr->2720 aggr

-At this step the actual data access to the volumes is going through the 8040->cluster switches->2720

-After all volumes are migrated to the 2720, I move the CIFS/NFS LIFs from the 8040 -> 2720 network port that is on the same vlan as the 8040. There may be a loss of a ping or two which is fine.

-Now data access is going directly through the 2720 because the CIFS/NFS LIFS are hosted on a node in that 2720.

Since the CIFS/NFS SVM was setup on the 8040, do I have to do anything special with the 2720 for CIFS/NFS setup? This is where I have the questions.

AFF300 with 24x1.6TB SSDs, adding 12x3.8TB SSD Question

We currently have a 4 node Netapp Cluster with a FAS8040 (being replaced with a FAS2720) & AFF300 with 1 DS2246 IOM6 Shelf with 24x1.6TB SSD drives with ADP enabled. The cluster is running 9.3P19. Currently there are two root aggregates and two data aggregates. All the SSD's are shared between both nodes in the HA pair and the existing disk shelf is ID 00.

The new shelf is a DS224C with IOM12. My plan was to add the shelf on a separate SAS loop of 10 because its IOM 12 and different sizes. After I add the shelf's will Ontap be smart enough to create a shared aggregate with 11 of the 3.8TB SSDs, one spare, and split the storage between the nodes? Has anyone done this lately and have the best process? I will open a case too.

My concerns are as follows:

1. I see the 1.6TB SSD drives being retired in the future and our root aggregates currently live on there.

2. What is the best way to setup the new aggregates and maybe move the root aggregates to the new drives. I have done this before with mechanical drives and it required a controller restart.

snapmirror restore fails on AFF system because of compression on the destination volume

Tried to restore a volume from a snapvault system to the primary system as follows:

The command failed, the primary volume ended up in a volume of type DP and snapmirror show-history shown:

Additional Information> Failed to start transfer because compression is enabled on destination volume "prisvm:snapdemo1" .

(Failed to start transfer. (Negotiation for using Storage Efficiency optimization failed because there is compression on the destination volume "3cd73296-af17-11ea-80db-00a098fe1a90:sanpdemo1"))

The restore destination is a AFF300 system. ( ONTAP 9.6P3)

snapvault source a fas8200 also ontap 9.6P3

Disabling inline and background compression didn`t change anything.

Any idea how to solve this problem?

I see that the the 11.50.3R2 release is the one recommended for 11.50 versions.

I would like to determine if that's worth upgrading to 11.50.3R2 and I would need a release note for this version.

From link https://docs.netapp.com/ess-11/index.jsp, I can get the global release note but that only tells that "OS 11.50.3 This version includes only minor enhancements and fixes.", that's not enough.

How can I get the release notes for each specific sub version ? Is the only solution to use the mysupport.netapp.com/Download section and select each specific release ?

Migrate FAS to AFF

I am not sure if this question has been answered earlier. If it has been please assist me with the post in which it is answered.

I am migrating a switchless FAS 8040 cluster running Ontap 9.5 to a switchless AFF 220 cluster. The raw space on AFF 220 is less than that on the FAS 8040 considering the better space savings AFF gives with deduplication and compression.

I have opted for SVM snapmirror to migrate the data, however the snapmirror initialization failed due to space unavailability on the AFF. I have broken the SVM relationship and have started storage efficiency operations on the AFF volumes.

The question I have is - If I resync the SVM snapmirror will it overwrite the efficiency options for the volumes? If yes, then what is my best option to migrate the data from the FAS to AFF for a switchless cluster?

We are in the middle of a data migration from FAS2650 to AFF220.

AFF220 nodes have been added to the FAS2650 cluster, so we are able to perform the data migration using volume moves.

I do notice new volumes created on the AFF filer have the following storage efficiency settings:

Schedule: -
Policy: auto
Compression: true
Inline Compression: true
Inline Dedupe: true
Data Compaction: true
Cross Volume Inline Deduplication: true
Cross Volume Background Deduplication: true

Volumes that I move from FAS -> AFF have the following settings:

Schedule: sun-sat@0
Policy: default
Compression: false
Inline Compression: false
Inline Dedupe: true
Data Compaction: true
Cross Volume Inline Deduplication: true
Cross Volume Background Deduplication: true

This means the volumes I moved from the FAS system do not have have compression enabled. What would be the best way forward here? Is it OK to enable compression on those volumes?

I think the way to go is the following but I would appreciate some guidedance or at least someone telling me this is OK to do..

1. Migrate volume FAS -> AFF using vol move

2. Change volume efficiency policy to "auto"

3. Enable compression on volume

4. Run a full volume scan using the following command: "volume efficiency start -vserver vs1 -volume VolA -scan-old-data true -all-data"

I make RTFI usb memory by etcher.

1.RTFI usb memory in to H300S and Power On.

2.Invoke Boot menu by F11 key.

3.Solidfire logo image appeard.

[Starting SolidFire RTFI magnesium-patch2-dev]

4.Perform extensive hardware tests on this node(Yes , no)

5.Waring: This is an active node in cluster = "hci-jp-internal"

Ingnore errors and continue( ALT-F8 to display, ALT-F7 to return) (Yes , No)

I insert [ ALT key and F8 key]

1. What is alternative to NFS if we implement Solidfire.

Is it normal that with FabricPool All policy a volume is mooved only 90% to StorageGrid?

Hi all,

I have a new 2 nodes AFF A300 with the aggregates on it tiered with a StorageGrid and i started to move some volumes (from another Ontap system FAS) to those new aggregates and applied the tiering policy ALL in FabricPool as I want(and aspected) those volumes to be moved to the StorageGrid entirely, except for the volume metadata.

But what I found once the volume have been mooved is that the majority of volume (90%) went to the StorageGrid hence 10% remain in "Performance Tier" (this is the output when I perform a "volume show-footprint" in Ontap)

Does this behavior is normal or do I have to wait for the rest of the data to be "colder".

I didn't found anything on Netapp Ontap Documentation, so hope that someone can help me on this.

We got it to be used as a file server but application team wants to host web based apps from it.

They want to keepg JAR files, binary codes etc on the NetApp and windows services run from a VM.

As far as I know MS doesn`t recommend that. Does NetApp support it?

This will definitely happen and failed drive cannot be reused.

separate iscsi traffic and peering traffic on shared ports aff220

I would use always the same ports (e0e and e0f) used for peering for iscsi traffic but isn't clear for me how I can separate the traffic (iscsi_a, iscsi_b, nfs, cifs). Now I've configured differente subnets for peering iscsi_a and iscsi_b so there are a logical separation but tecnically isn't very correct and I would use a VLAN.

I can create a svm but I can't use a vlan for it; also the GUi (9.7) allow me choose only the IP but I don't have find where set the vlan.

I would like to make sure I am not missing something: I wanted to create a clustered VMDK datastore for Windows Server Failover Cluster File Server using SolidFire storage, but vSphere reports that the LUN to be used for the datastore does not support clustered VMDK's. Is there any way to enable the support for clustered VMDK here?

Or is there any other way to create a compatible disk for a Windows Server Failover cluster?

configuration: AFF320, FC, 4 node cluster with NVMe SSD, multiple SVMs(each SVM is a different customer)

Recently while testing for noisy neighbors, our platform guys realized that they were getting 400K IOPS from LUNs assigned from 4 volumes on 2 nodes in the cluster. Expectation from 2 nodes was a max of 250K IOPS with 100% read and 8K blocks, without any QOS applied.

Our understanding was 4 Node NetApp cluster with 12 SSDs/HA pair would yield max 440K IOPS. Is that wrong? From the tests, it seems with only 2 nodes no QOS policy, we can go beyond 400K and that would impact other volumes on the cluster.

Is my understanding correct?

We've downloaded Element OS v12 demo which is an ova file and setup instructions that is availabel on the same download page. Following instructions we've deployed the ova in our ESXi v6.5 environment. After configuring networking via TUI in VM Console we've tried to create cluster via Web UI. This request is redirecting us to https://<MVIP>/createcluster page. In this page a single node did appeared. After entering MVIP, SVIP, admin credentials and click I agree checkbox so all fields get completed nothing happens by clicking "Create Cluster" button. By pointing mouse on the button it shows js:void(0) which shows a possible issue on this page.

Did anyone knows how to overcome this and succesfyly create a single-node demo cluster ?

I am trying to configure the trunk mode between a300 storage and Cisco Catalyst switch. and doesn't work

On the storage side, I created:
Ifgrp (two ports) -> vlan () -> Lif
Note: When I create Lif, it doesn't ping

On the side switch, I configured two ports as a trunk mode and stop allowing all vlans to pass
Note: if I configure the two ports on the switch in access mode they work perfectly. Only in trunk mode that does not work.

configure Netapp with data domain VTL

Hello,

I am configuring a vtl with 2 LTO5 drives on data domain 6800 with the AFF200.

I zoned both storage system. From the data domain I can see the NetApp target port and the VTL is enabled.

on the NetApp side I can see the VTL nor the drives. In the supported drives list on the NetApp I can see that the Ultrium lto5 is supported.

the NetApp is using 2 FC ports for the bloack access and I am using the same working port to configure the VTL.

could you help please on how to configure?

Best practice when adding a new shelf full of disks

I have following situation:

An existing AFF-A300 storage with one shelf DS224 with 24 disks, which were assigned as "shared" on both controllers.

Now I added a second DS224 with also 24 of the same disks, and the autoassign option was setted to off.

My question is what is the best practice to proceed:

1. Should I set the autoassign option to on and let the storage decide the way the disks will be assigned

2. Shoud I add each of the 24 disks separately to the controllers (0-11 to the first controller and 12-23 to the second)?

It looks like, since the existing disks are "shared" the rg group is already 24 from the maximum of 28,

meaning that probably a new rg group has to be created, correct?

My Block Storage Cluster Capacity is 9.6TB. So it gives an Error of blockClusterFull as I utilized the Block Storage 7.9 TB / 9.6 TB.

So I deleted one Virtual Machine in vCenter thinking that the Block Storage will also be freed up. This machine size was 1.30TB. I deleted that machine and nothing happened to the Block Storage.

How can I ensure that the 1.30TB of the VM I deleted also decreases from Block Storage? Please help.

Hey,

Can the provisioning of datastores from solidfire be used like vsc when you're able to right-click the esxi host/cluster and use the plugin extension from there do provision to this host/cluster?

Also right-clicking the datastore to increase its' size or even take a snapshot on it.

Having to leave the main vcenter screens in order to go the plugin is not much convenient in my opionion.

I´m using the Element OS demo sim. After converting the ova file to vmx with ovatool I was able to deploy the element sim to my ESX 6.7. The element sim is running. If I try to create a cluster I get the Error that the clustername field is empty. (See picture) On the Console I cant set the name while I always get error "Update failed" see picture error2

Vol move used to move as much data as we could until AFF A700 80% full, efficiecy on AFF 1.47:1 from compression, dedupe. Compaction not giving any improvememnt showing as 1:1

We also had StorageGRID for FabricPool but wil such poor deduplication we dont want to tier until its better or wont have enough space to migrate all data off FAS8060 controllers.

My suspicaion is vol move does not get benefit of compaction at all, vol move used as mon-disruptive and no cutover to worry about aka changing any share paths.

The existing AFF8040 is not running 9.6P3 today but it will brought up to this release in advance.

One existing DS224C disk shelf with dual IOM 12's via x4 miniSAS HD to QSFP cables (X66020A-R6) and x2 12Gb SAS HBA's in the AFF8040 (X2069-R6) as the AFF8040's onboard SAS is only 6Gb.

I have sourced x4 miniSAS HD to miniSAS HD cables (X66031A) for connectivity between the existing DS224C and AFF A300. The X66020A-R6 12Gb SAS HBA's are no longer needed as the AFF A300's onboard SAS is 12Gb.

Minimum root aggregate and volume size per HWU - The AFF8040 and AFF A300 minimum's are both 431GB (root aggr) and 350GB (root vol); my AFF 8040 acutual today is as follows:

root vol's - 348.6GB total, 41.9GB used, 306.7GB free

How/why are my root aggr's/vol's less than the defined minimum today?

I am doing forward sizing with workload 100% sequential write, 1024k block size, iSCSI (10GbE) interface with EF570 platform.
The result in the system detail screen always considers the EF570 with 16 GB of memory (part number E5700A-16 GB).
When does the E-Series Sizer Tool select the EF570 with 64 GB of memory?

when using nvme/fc on an A300/A700/A700s for example with just ssds as the backend, what is the performance beneift/degregation?

Is ontap wafl converting nvme commands to scsi just before writing them to the disks?

and if my application is mostly write intensive does this mean I will get "hurt" less becuase most of the nvme commands will be written to the nvram anyway?

And also from the other way around, if I use nvme disks in an A320/A800 but with fcp for example as the protocol, does iops get translated from nvme to scsi and vice-versa depending if they are read/write ops?

Future FCoE connectivity on new platforms and A400 25GbE question

From what I've seen all new models (A800, A320 & A400/FAS8300+8700) do not have UTA2 adapters compatible.

Does that mean that FCoE connectivity is not possible? or can it be achieved through the 25gb ports for example?

Is that the end of FCoE support?

Another question: I see that in the A400/FAS8300+8700 the onboard 25gbe ports can go down to 10gbe but the expansion adapter cards only appear to be 25.

is that by design or mistake? could they negotiate down to 10 also?

Hi everyone,

I have 4 HCI storage node in my group , it use to setup a demo lab . For some reason I need to upgrade the Element OS version from 1.4 to 1.6p1 and I'v done it on two storage nodes, but still have some problem on the other two nodes.

The symptom is that when attempting to perform an initialize to a SolidFire node via USB, an error message is prompt "caught sigtemr pid=1 cmd=(local mnt=$(mktemp --tempdir --directory archive-extract...." on 60% and the process cannot be continued.

PS : That the SolidFire image used it “solidfire-rtfi-sodium-patch3-11.3.1.5.iso”

I've been try many methods but it can't be done so for, I have no idea about it.

My lun's from the SolidFire storage are assigned LUN ID 0 in vSphere using iSCSI.

When using RDM's to create disks for a SQL cluster, the RDM's cannot be added to the second node.

I'm trying to present disks from an AFF-200 to a Windows 2008 R2 server, via SnapDrive 7.1.5.

When I attempt to Establish the iSCSI session, I immediately receive an error informing me that

"You cannot establish more iSCSI sessions with the selected Storage System because you do not have MPIO installed on this system, or all possible iSCSI sessions are already established. Click finish to exit...."

I can confirm that:

1) I do have Data OnTap DSM 4.1.4348.1209 installed and the MPIO for the FC disks are displaying as expected

2) I have have not reached maximum iSCSI sessions (According to the HWU, I should be ok for 8192)

3) I have the same software stack installed on 2 other identical servers. The only difference I can see is that under the Windows MPIO, I do not see this entry on the problematic server:

I have tried reinstalled all of the software but no luck.

Does anyone have anything?

SSD Performance

I have a customer who is currently running 1.6TB SSDs (Part Number: X439A-R6) on an AFF8040.

We are trying to sell them a AFF A300 with 3.84TB SSDs (Part Number: X357A).

They want to know the actual IOPS per SSD for both types. I would beleive that this is very much dependant on whether the SSDs are MLC, eMLC or SLC.

Flash Cache NVMe - does it provide write cache?

Hello everyone,

I has just checking NS0-182 practice exam (https://www.brainshark.com/netapp/NS0-182-PRACTICE link from NetApp webpage) and one of the question was how to configure additional write cache for SAS drives.
To my surprise the correct answer was to install Flash Cache NVMe module.

I was thinking Flash Cache is read cache only and Flash Pool provides write cache for overwrites. Did something change recently? Can't find any evidence...

How to enable snmp on mNode-Server in HCI-Cluster?

with our new HCI-Cluster installed and mNode setup, we now want to manage the mNode via SNMP with our Fault-Management-System.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to find any docs.

Anybody out there knowing how to perform this?

hi,

since a few days, i 've got the following message at the bottom of the web page admin :

There are not enough spare disks. /aggr0/plex0/rg0: Please add spare disks to any pool supporting block checksums with minimum.

but, sysconfig command display :

Good Afternoon NetApp Community!

I hope we are all having a great week so far! I am reaching out with hopes of answering my question on if you can use the same SSD's between a FAS hybrid array and a AFF array. We have a customer seeking to decom a FAS6240 that was using flash cache and wishes to take the SSD's in use and place them into one of his AFF arrays. If this is even possible, will firmware / previous FAS array's Data ONTAP version play a factor? I greatly appreciate your time and assitance!

EF570 or A300

Sorry for bother you again.

I need one storage used for database, first the storage need have high performance (about iops 100000)and low latecy(<1ms), at the same time snapshot and replication protect need for database. EF570 or A300, i don't know which to choose.

For EF570, its performance is ok , although it has snapshot and replication function,but i am not sure if EF570 snapshot or replication is ok.

Is there an comparision between EF570 snapshot/replication vs A300?

Esxi 6.5 > AFF220 (24xSSD) > NFS using a single 10Gbe SFP+ connection.

IOmeter giving 40.000 IOPS when doing 4k 100% read random (Inside VM). Tried adding more workers, but the 40k. appears to be the limit.

Is this a good number or would it be a benefit to modify ESXi settings like queue depth?

Also I am not sure if it is just the 10Gbe link maxing out?

Things run just fine, but its always nice to see some numbers for reality check.

Running Ontap 9.4sp5 on a FAS 2552 and AFF-A200.

I thought I knew what I was talking about but I am pretty confused right now after talking to co-workers and doing some more reading.

What we would like to do is go away from thin provisioned volumes and have the LUNS see all the space available to it. Right now we configure a 1:1 relatioship between volumes to luns. So I want my 10 TB volume to match my 10 TB LUN. On the volumes, I would have THIN PROVISIONED turned off, correct? And on the LUNS, do I disable space reservation?

Minimum Hot Spare Count?

Hi,

We have 24 SSD's in our AFF-A200. We wanted to use one hot spare while we were configuring the aggregate, but we could not set it to less than two. Of course, having a sufficient amount of hot spare is always the best practice. However, since each disk has relative a large capacity, we also need to compromise on the efficiency of the capacity so we could have more usable capacity. I wonder if it's possible to have only one hot spare.

We have a brand new A700, and it's not in production yet. I'm trying to get test the throughput using "IOmeter" tool, the performance is poor than other arrays we have (FAS8080, and AFF8080), so, is there a specific tool from NETAPP tahat we could use to get an accurate result?

Hello , I've bought an AFF-A220 , so I'm new with this, let me explain my issue , I created an application with 3TB, automatically created a Volume and a LUN, I configured a virtual Machine and that vm has 2.5TB. everyday I receive this error below. Now application has 4,75TB, how this happens? how can I fix?

AFF 200 change Vlan for NFS SVM

Hello;

I have an working NFS SVM with our Server Vlan (id 55), for security reasons i want to change this to a new Vlan (id 10).

This NFS Exports are for the VMWare vCenter Datastores.

I changed the network settings of the ESXI for the new Vlan 10, the Interfaces are pingable and working.

On the existing NFS SVM i created a new NFS Lif in the new Vlan 10, but from this Interface i cannot ping the ESXI.

The Switch Config seems to be ok.

Do i need to delete the existing NFS Lif that the new is working?

Do i need to create a new NFS SVM or will it work with the existing?

Question Performance EF280

we have an EF-280 wit 48 SSD Disks.

We created 2 Volumes - Raid 6 - workload: other workload

"each" shelf one volume

directoly connected to DataCore Server (Windows) via 32 GB FC

These volumes are in an diskpool on Datacore served to ESXi Hosts

We got 150 MB/s and ~ 2000 IO/s

On other existing storages - like QNAP with SSD via ISCSI to Datacore -> ESXi - we got around 20.000 IO/s

So - what is wrong in our configuration ?

Check vCenter compatibility with Element Plug-in for vCenter Server

Just a heads-up to those who tend to install latest & greatest: the Element Plugin-in for vVCenter server which is commonly used by SolidFire and NetApp HCI customers, currently has its compatibility notes in Release Notes (v4.2.3).

Latest VCSA supported by this version:

VMware vSphere 6.7
◦ VMware vCenter Server 6.7 Update 1

Later this info will move to the NetApp IMT.

Newer versions may work, but also not. For example plugin v4.2.3 doesn't seem to work on the very latest VCSA (6.7.0.30000 Build number 13010631). It did work for me with two post-6.7U1 updates, but it doesn't work on this very latest one, so check this carefully before updating VCSA or the plugin...
