Using the AltaVault, if files were accidently deleted from an SMB share, is there a way to recover them from the cloud? In other words, are deletes sents to the cloud immediately or after a period of time?

Hi,

AltaVault maintains logging of operations performed on the NAS interfaces. If the data is removed from SMB/NFS, then tracking of those segments is removed from the AltaVault DB, and cleaned up in the cloud when garbage collection triggers. While the data segments may still be there, they are inaccessible. You need to protect against accidental deletion, like with any NAS share.

Regards,

Christopher
