topic Acquisition Unit Firewall Connectivity Requirements in Data Infrastructure Insights

I had a few customers ask me what *exactly* they needed to whitelist for their Acquisition Units to be able to connect to Cloud Insights. As a best practice you should whitelist *.cloudinsights.netapp.com, but when this is not an option, you can grab the needed URLs manually. This requirement could change, but as of the date of writing this, customers need to enable three specific links:

Tenantid.Z.cloudinsghts.netapp.com

Aulogin.Z.cloundinsights.netapp.com

Tenanthostname.Z.cloudinsights.netapp.com

You know “tenanthostname” because that is what end users log into with a web browser – aaNNNN is the pattern

The "tenantId" can be found by querying the tenant’s systemInfo API, e.g. https://tenanthostname.Z.cloudinsights.netapp.com/rest/v1/systemInfo

Z is a constant for a given tenant – Z is the cluster the tenant is on – c01,c02, eu-1, etc. That is also part of what the link the end users log into.
