I install Active IQ Unified Manager 9.7 in CentOS in VMware workstation player, the process stuck at installing :netapp-um-9.7-2003090150.x86_64 1/1 for long time, and report Failed to start Active IQ Management Server services.

what's the problem? How to solve it?

It could just be a linux thing, just google up to bugzilla.

Try:
1) Disable Selinux
2) run rpm
3) Enable Selinx

shall I uninstall unified manager first then disable Selinux -> run rpm -> enable Selinux, then re-install unified manager? or in other sequence?

First, just to be on the safe side. make sure you have all the minimum requirement by checking this install guide

This may be related with mysql version, please make sure you are running MYSQL 8.0.17 and disable any other minor versions.

After that, retry the install all over again.
