Using SME to Move Transaction Logs

We want to move transaction logs for a storage group to a new LUN (in a new, different volume) to comply with best practice recommendations.

I've been advised that using SME (we are using version 5.0) is the best way to do this. Has any one any relevant experience of this:

1. Will the relevant storage group need to be offline in Exchange whilst we are doing the work?

2. Is there any way we can estimate how long the migration will take?

Hi,

Yes you can move transaction logs using SME and you don't need to offline the storage group while migrating.

The time basically depends on how big are the logs, if the storage group has logs that are smaller in size, your migration should be done within a minute or 2.
