SME and RDM's Virtual Compatibility Mode (VMware)

Right to the point. We have MS Exchange virtualized (vmware) and are using RDM on physical compatibility mode for the DB luns. The Exchange DB luns are presented via FC HBA. We rely on SME 7.2 for Exchange backups. I would like to change the RDM Compatibility mode from physical to virtual so that I have more flexibility later during a storage migration to a new HCI cluster. Will this affect SME backups. Is there anything else i need to consider for this change besides SME. I have read the SME 7.2.1 Install and Setup guide but could not find anything there.

SME is dependent on Snapdrive . Snapdrive has limitation that it only supports Physical Compatibility Mode.

So please do not modify the RDM-Compatibility Mode
