      <description>&lt;P&gt;I would like to use NetApp XCP to migrate data in a workgroup environment.&lt;BR /&gt;I think this is possible if I run it without adding -acl, but are workgroup environments not supported?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;a href="https://community.netapp.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/107148"&gt;@shirotan&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I don't see why it wouldn't work if you meet these requirements:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;XCP SMB host user must meet the following requirements for the data migration&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;UL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;XCP host system:&lt;UL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;An XCP host user must have administrator privilege&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;Add the XCP host user to the local administrators group&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/UL&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;Target storage system:&lt;UL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;XCP host user must have read and write access&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;XCP host user must be part of the "BUILTIN\Administrators" group on the target SMB server&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/UL&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;Source storage system:&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/UL&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;UL class=""&gt;&lt;LI&gt;If the user is part of the&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;“Backup Operators”&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;group in the source storage system, the members of this group can read files while bypassing the security rules, regardless of any permissions that protect those files.&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;If the user is not part of the&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;“Backup Operators”&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;group in the source system, the user must have read access.&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/UL&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Note:&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt;Write permission is required in the source storage system to support&amp;nbsp;the XCP option&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;-preserve-atime&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Reference&lt;/STRONG&gt;:&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://kb.netapp.com/on-prem/ontap/da/XCP/XCP-KBs/What_are_XCP_SMB_host_user_requirements" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;What are XCP SMB host user requirements? - NetApp Knowledge Base&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
