Hi Gurus

I met a strange issue. I already installed jre 1.7u21 x64 and snapcreator 3.6P1

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>java -version

I installed several times SC but never meet this kind of issue. what's wrong about it?

in manual, it said sth about gui-000001 error:

Ensure that the encrypted

password in the configuration

file is correct.

I make sure the password what I enter during the installation is that one I try to login.

It's really strange.

I am not sure why it run a program named "C:/Program" which setting conduct this?

I tried to uninstall SC and delete all left files. then re-install SC. but unlucky. I tried to change the passwd during the installation, but unlucky.

Finally I remove java and SC then re-install them in a difference path. it works. but I have no idea what's the root cause.

Setting is SNAPCREATOR_EXEC in gui/etc/snapcreatorgui.conf file

Hi,

I have the same issue:

Receive error while trying to login to the application: "[gui-00001]Unable to decrypt password!"

And message in the snapcreator.log: Cannot run program "C:/Program"

I reinstalled in a new path without blanks and it works.

It seems to be a bug in the application not able to understand blanks...

So strange. I install SC under default path many times but only one time to hit this.

Thanks for your update, which OS version did you use? 2k8 or 2k3?

Hi,

I have W2K8R2.

After having installed to the none-default path, the login works but while trying the first backup I get the message that the Notes Plugin cannot be found at C:\Program Files\... So it seems to still looking at the default path.

Did you had the problem also?

I suspect it has to do with the Java Version because I have exactly the same you have: 1.7u21...

I will now try with java 1.6

Had the same issue on win2k8r2, i did a complete reinstall to "C:\NetApp_Snap_Creator_Framework" and since then everything works like a charm. Maybe some UAC issues.

I installed SC many times under c:\program files but it sounds no often to hit this issue.

I checked one I installed and the setting in gui/etc/snapcreatorgui.conf file

SNAPCREATOR_EXEC=C:/Program Files/NetApp/NetApp_Snap_Creator_Framework/scServer3.6p1/snapcreator.exe

it works well. the java version is 1.7U15. what's your java version?

I am not sure why it works in one windows machine and not in the other but there is one thing that you can definately do to avoid this error.

"Install Snap Creator in a directory with no spaces.*

Maybe just install in a location like "C:/NetApp/NetApp_Snap_Creator_Framework" and not "C:/Program Files/NetApp/NetApp_Snap_Creator_Framework".

This is what I've done and it works. But this is certainly an issue that is to be addressed by NetApp support.
