Snap Creator 4.1.1 with VIBE - SCF-00028: Auto Discovery for plug-in [vibe] failed

Hi,

I trying to configure a backup job for a Linux server (domino) and I'm receiving the following error:

[2014-11-19 18:19:59,215] ERROR: [snapcreatorserver:9090(4.1.1.1)] SCF-00028: Auto Discovery for plug-in [vibe] failed with error [validation failed] and exit code [1], Exiting!

Environment:

Snap Creator Server

- Linux64

- Snap Creator Server 4.1.1

- Snap Creator Agent 4.1.1

- Java 1.6.0.33

- Openssl (SymLinks created)

Linux Server (Domino)

- Linux64

- Snap Creator Agent 4.1.1

- Java 1.6.0.33

- SymLinks created
- Agent running with notes user (not root)

I found the explanation for this error on admin guide, but when I change the APP_AUTO_DISCOVERY to N, I receive the error saying that vibe plugin need the APP_AUTO_DISCOVERY=ON

ADMIN GUIDE

Application discovery failed due to an application error.
Check the logs and application settings. In addition, automatic discovery can be disabled by setting APP_AUTO_DISCOVERY=N and commenting out VALIDATE_VOLUMES.

I checked this thread and everything appears OK.

Hi,

For the VIBE issue I'd recommend opening a support case to resolve the issue.

However, I'd also recommend running the Domino plugin by itself for the best experience.

The VIBE plugin calls separate quiesce and unquiesce actions for each database or application plugin.

For most databases this works great, but Domino requires a continuous session to log all the info while Domino is in backup mode.

VIBE + Domino would be good if you want an application and VM consistent backup, but for daily or regular Domino backups I'd use just the Domino plugin.

Hi John,

I will open a support case for VIBE problem...

I created a Domino only backup it runs forever... and never ends. I aborted the job after 3 hours.

And the domino DB for this test is small (10GB).
