snapcreate 3.5.0c for vSphere needs more priviledges

Hello,

creating vSphere snaps with snapcreator don't work with the documented ontap user priviledges found in the 3.4 installation guide.

Not setting the priviledge api-net-ifconfig-get the snap fails with

[Wed Nov 2 13:39:38 2011] INFO: Updating NTAP_USERS storage controller/vserver netappfiler.dom with IP address xx.xx.xx.xx ...

[Wed Nov 2 13:39:38 2011] ERROR: [vmw-00032] Storage controller/vserver did not have network configuration information!

[Wed Nov 2 13:39:38 2011] ERROR: [scf-00049] Auto Discovery for plugin vibe failed with exit code 1, Exiting!

Cause this ist not documented please add this to the installation guide.

Is there any new installation guide for 3.5? Maybe you already added it there.

Good catch you are right the additional API permissions required for VMware plug-in are not documented in install guide.

The 3.5.0 install guide has not yet been written. I will open up a DOC issue to capture this.

Once you added the permission api-net-ifconfig-get things worked right?

Hi Keith,

the auto discovery starts now. But I have problems with the layer2-connected nfs filesystems now. I think we should not mix this here. I'll open a new thread again
