Greetings,

I am new to Snap Creator so please pardon may ignorance.

As far as I know Snap Creator has a server and agent architecture, with three main components: Snap Creator Server, Snap Creator Agent, and plug-ins.But If I am just looking to take crash-consistent snapshots for multiple volumes across different controllers and NO added functionality. Can I do it without installing Snap Creator Agent on VM? Or agent installation is absolutely necessary for snapcreator to work no matter whether I am looking for application integration or not?

Thanks

Anand Sengar

If you just want to make Snapshots of Filer-Volumes you only need the SnapCreator Server.

Agent is just required if you want to set Databases to Backup-Mode or run Scripts on a Server.
