Hi

I'm busy implementing Sharepoint 2013 on our Flexpod solution.

With SQL Server 2012, for high-availablility/DR, I have two options : Clustering, or Availability Groups.

With Availability groups, nodes in the cluster function as self contained SQL Servers... i.e. no shared storage. This also means though, that each of the nodes in my AG requires it's own LUNs. These LUNs would also contain (exactly?) the same data.

Will deduplication help in this regard? Would the LUNs need to be in the same vol?

De-duplication does not happen across volumes on the netapp filers so you have to take this into consideration when laying out your luns. We came across the same issue with exchange 2012 with DAG's.
