Oracle 11.2.0.3

Oracle Linux 5.6 x64

RAC & ASM

SMO 3.2

SDU 5.0P1

NFS

So with SMO we have the repository DB account and the target DB account. In the IAUG, both accounts are documented with what permissions they should have. The repository user in the repo DB gets connect and resource while the user in the target DB gets sysdba permission. In a RAC configuration, I can't get the target DB user to work. However if I use the SYS user there's no problem when I create the profile. This is a test environment and I have only one password I use for everything in the RAC. I've seen this on multiple occasions in multiple RACs so there's something I'm missing consistently. I defined the SMO user account in the RAC DB which is where I feel it should be. Anyone know what's going on? For anyone who's gotten it working with RAC, do you just use the SYS user?
