You will not be able to create backups using SMSP, because you need NetApp LUNs. But I think just implementing the NetApp BLOB provider could work.

But why do you want to pay for the full suite and use only a tiny portion of it?

Hi,

I want to use SMSP RBS provider to move BLOB out of SharePoint 2010 SQL Server database to a NetApp FAS3240.

The problem is the FAS3240 is only configured as a NAS not SAN, means that can only be used to store the BLOB file.

Our SQL database will be configured to use HP 3PAR SAN storage to store the data base file.

I am curious to know whether SMSP support this kind of conifguration or not?
