Does Protection Manager support snapvault and snapmirror form vfiler to vfiler?

Hi All,

Would like to know if vfiler to vfiler is supported in PM? This means the snapvault and snapmirror relationships on exist in the vfiler not in the physical container (vfiler0). Also if not when is this planned?

As of today this is not support.

As far when this is planned pls get it touch with the Product Managers.

Hi Adai,

I am thinking to use VMware SRM with vfilers and the NetApp SRA 2.0 adapter requires that snapmirror relationships exist within the vfiler and not vfiler0.

Since the last update was in 2010, does the latest OnCommand 5.0 protection component still not support vfiler <-> vfiler mirrors?

This behavior hasn't changed and no plans too. Can you talk to the product manger if this very important for your customers ?

Chris SC can handle snapvault/snapmirror from vfiler to vfiler. Maybe we should figure out what SC is missing that PM offers and just close those gaps? The only gap I can think of is lag monitoring which wouldnt be too hard to implement in SC.

Lets have discussion and get some feature requests open in SC.
