Planning on upgrading out Netapp's from 7.3.2 to OnTap 8.1 (Once GD) and wondering if anyone has alaready done this and are using Snapdrive and Snapmanager for SQL?

All out SnapDrive hosts have Snap Drive 6.3 P1, and looking at the compatibility matrix it looks to be supported on 8.1 in 7 mode which I plan to goto, just wondering if it is worth upgrading them to 6.4 before doing the upgrade?

Just wondering if there any gotchas that we might hit and want to make it a smooth as possible so wondering wether to plan in the snapdrive updates first.

Any experience that anyone has has had would be most useful.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

we installed SD 6.4 and OnTap 8.1RC3 without issues. My recommendation would be to upgrade snapdrive before.

Regards Bernd
