HbaPortTolomCircles_Alert errors in system manager while configadvisor says cabling is ok

Hi,

IHAC who got HbaPortTolomCircles_Alert errors while ConfigAdvisor tool says cabling is correct.

Does anyone knows if there is a issue or bug with System Manager relating to this. I didn't find anything.

ONTAP version is 8.1 cluster mode.

System Manager version is 2.0.1

C-Mode enforces cabling A and C ports to square ports and B and D ports to circle ports.

This is great help.

Do you know why there is this enforcement ? I've never seen these alerts before with 7 mode.

For me the important thing is that square and circle channels of a shelf module are separated.

We have working with the different teams to ensure we have a common set of rules across Data ONTAP, System Manager and Config Advisor so that the rules are consistent. You can track http://support.netapp.com/NOW/cgi-bin/bol?Type=Detail&Display=569689 for the release that will fix this problem.

this enforcement is also true for 7-mode beginning with ontap 8.1, older releases didn't check the cabling in such a strict way...
