Hi,

You actually can do that, as SnapVault is a pull operation: snapshots are created at the SV destination & are independent of source snapshots.

The flipside to that is if you have any application-consistent snapshots in your SM target they will not be seen / preserved after cascading via SV (allegedly it may change in a future).

Regards,

Radek

Hey guys I was wondering is it possible to snapvault a snapmirror Destination. Logic tells me you cant because the snapmirror

destination volume is read-only therefor snapvault cannot take a snapshot on the destination volume.

A better picture of this is

volA ----SNAPMIRROR ------>[volA destination]------SNAPVAULT------->[Snapvault Destination]
