Regarding using Edge-T as backup target device from NetApp Primary

Hi All,

Can we use/setup Edge-T VM as a backup target from a Primary NetApp controller ? I understand that there is a maximum 10TB limit and that snap vault secondary can be licensed on Edge-T -so am thinking this might be possible however did not find any documentation regarding the same..If possible will this function like a normal snap vault schedule?

Hi Bino,

This use case is definitely supported with Edge-T - which can function as a SnapVault secondary. Only the minimal storage capacity makes Edge a poor target for backups. The documentation for doing this is the same that one would find for FAS. If you go to support.netapp.com, you should be able to search for "SnapVault express guide."
