    <description>&lt;P&gt;what are interface groups. when i bootup the sim, it has 4 interfaces. I can give each interface its own ip. but should i use interface groups or no?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;You can use interface groups (in simulator) to get experience with. I doubt (depending on the hosting system e.g. laptop) that you have more then one physical ethernet interface.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;They have been known as Virtual Interface (vif) in Ontap 7G and are now called Interface Groups (ifgrp). The purpose is the same: to bundle together 2 or more physical ports to provide more redundancy and/or more throughput.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hope this helps.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Peter&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
