MCTB question: how long do MCTB issue CFOD?

Hi Gurus

in MCTB config.xml file, if without gateway setting, how "CONNECTTIMEOUT" and "CONNTECTRETRIES" work with the filer option cf.takeover.detection.seconds together? is there a requirement the value "CONNECTTIMEOUT" plus "CONNTECTRETRIES" must be larger than cf.takeover.detection.seconds? Or MCTB could detect mailbox status from partner side and avoid to issue CFOD when only controller is down.

Hi TC,

The option cf.takeover.detection.seconds is only used by ONTAP when issuing a normal takeover. MCTB only takes action when ONTAP cannot do a normal takeover, and will only ever issue a CFOD (never a normal takeover). There is no requirement that (connectTimeout * connectRetries) be greater than cf.takeover.detection.seconds.
