I need to set a volume or a lun to read only state. I know Vol restrict can do, but it will loose access to Lun correct me? I ready many blogs and it shows only snap mirror destination volumes can be read only. I need the lun to be in read only state and migrate the lun to different lun. Let me know your inputs.

Hi,

If you restrict a volume, it will be unavailable for data access. So you are correct, your LUN access will be lost if you restrict the container volume.

Do you have a SM relation ship for the volume which the LUN belong to? Can you give us more details on why you want to set the LUN to read only for migration?

Thanks
