Hi,

Can someone help me confirm what the best raid group size for adding 48 new 600 GB sas disks in two DS2246 shelves would be?

I am thinking I would need to use RG size of 15 and then have 3 hot spares?

Can someone confirm this is good idea or suggest better layout?

Is this an add-on to an existing filer? do you have spares already? Or is this a new filer?

This is an existing filer. We already have 4 hot spares for the 10K SAS drives.

I think I can just make an aggregate with RG 16, put all 48 disks in the aggregate and net out at about 20 tb of useable storage?

Sound good?
